So Grateful to be an American...

We are literally sitting on a mountainside, enjoying the majesties of nature...and am reading a book about a 10 year old girl from a Middle Eastern country that got the courage to escape an abusive, arranged marriage in a country where she could be put to death for that.  I am often frustrated with our political system, but I am SO grateful to live in America...where we have so much more than the rest of the world.  We are so fortunate...
LET FREEDOM RING!  Happy 4th everyone...
Note: Pics will follow, but we rented a beautiful house in the mountains on Lake Cascade in Idaho.  We are boating, fishing, eating smores, relaxing, and having a wonderful time.  I am exhausted...but I would call it "happily" exhausted.  My girls are having the time of their lives...and that is priceless!

I just got back from Girls camp and enjoyed the great outdoors and all the beautiful flowers and trees. I had some great expriences with the girls and all the leaders. I am greatful to have the gospel in my life and also to live in this free land of beauty. I will have to come visit and tell you all about commitment night. Happy 4th. Annette

Hi Shanda:
Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Hope you ate plenty of s'mores. They are the best!

Believe it or not I "ran" the Peachtree this weekend. It was so much fun!!! The people were so nice that it made Atlanta seem like a small town. Rich babysat for Charlotte so both Hody and Ann could participate in the race. (I think he worked harder than we did.) It was a great 4th!!!

Take care and kiss the kids for me,

Patti

Is the name of the book, "Not Without My Daughter"? That's the name of a book I read once with a similar story line. It surely makes one appreciate our blessings of freedom and culture. Continuing to wish you well and praying for you and yours. Gloria

I saw some white Petunias while out riding my bike last night. I thought of the pretty cluster in the background in the recent Sunday photos of your daughters. I think that will always be my connection now.
