Miserable...and STARVING!

I'm shaky, nauseous, hurting, faint, weak, and STARVING...but I can't find anything that sounds good at all.  I really mean nothing.   Not even at a restaurant.  Just the thought of all food makes me queasy... it's miserable.  Have you ever had chemo heartburn...or hiccups... yuck, I can't even describe how terrible it is...always tasting the chemicals in the back of my throat.  This continuous pump is going to be my demise.

Who cares if it sounds good...just eat it! YOu need every bit of strength you can get. The higher fat content the better. Hang in there!

SO SORRY!! You look so tiny (but beautiful). When my cousin had cancer all he could eat was peanut butter fudge. Random huh? Sorry if the thought of that makes you gag. Hope you can find something that will sit well with you soon. Love from the Turners.

I just made Raspberry pie from scratch. If that sounds good just give me jingle and I will bring some over. If anything sounds good at all just call and I could bring or even make you somthing. Love form the Griggs!!!

Oh, no. That is terrible! I just don't know. When it is hard to even think of swallowing something. The only ideas I can come up with are items with ginger and/or mint (such as the herbal teas. Could you manage to work on getting one or two ginger snap cookies down, sip some gingerale, or chew on a piece of ginger root? Maybe some of a shake or ice cream on a stick you could gradually work on? If you can find ginger-peppermint capsules that would be something quick to swallow and then, hopefully, after a short time you would feel like eating something. Strong peppermint gum or mint candy to help ease the nausea? I am so sorry, Shanda. We hope and pray your situation will improve very soon!

Hey Shanda-
So SORRY to hear you are seasick! (sounds better than the chemo stuff) Randy is in the same boat as you(sorry about the pun) He just eats whatever he can get down-his oncologist gives him ativan as a 3rd line antinausea med-it helps alot. The big thing is to avoid getting dehydrated(sip-sip-sip)He has also been using the Relief band (battery electric wrist band)that helps block the nausea. Hope you get some relief soon-every treatnemt is 1 closer to being done!
Great job on Relay for Team Shanda!

I know you are probably sick of hearing advice, but...well...um....I just can't help myself.

I had a friend who was in the same cemo-fix. She found a product called Mighty Shakes. They are small, sweet, cold, and very high in fat and chocked full of all the good stuff you need.

Just an idea.
