And we trudge on...

My oncologist called me at home this morning and wanted to let me know that he wants to try another round of chemo tomorrow.  They are going to reduce the dose of the 5FU (which is what makes me SOOOO sick.)  I know that reducing the dose decreases the effectiveness of the chemo but they want to try it.  I have been told by several oncologists that my cancer is not well treated by IV chemo and that this will only increase my odds by 5-10%.  If I am decreasing that... it might seem as though I am torturing myself for very little chance of change.  I have an appointment before my infusion and want to really talk to him about this.  I will post later to let you all know how it went.  Please continue your prayers...for my body, but also my doctors (that they will know what is necessary to treat me and HOW to do it.)  Thanks again!  You are all amazing...

Shanda, my prayers are with you and those doctors that they find a treatment plan soon for you that is going to work and not hurt you so much.

Here's a funny you can share with your girls..."why is Cinderella so bad at Baseball?" Because she runs from the ball. My 8 year old neice told me that today and it just really struck my funny bone and made me laugh. I hope it might make you smile.

Shanda,

Saw this in the Deseret News this morning. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700036918/Test-helps-breast-cancer-patients-decide-whether-they-need-or-would-benefit-from-chemotherapy.html

This probably doesn't apply to your situation... however it maybe worth mentioning to your doctors.

Shanda! I have been thinking of you so much lately. I wish so bad that I was closer so that I could help out. I'd love to have your girls over to play with my girls... I'd love to just sit and laugh like we used to. Hear your funny stories of your sweet jewish neighbors... I am sooo happy that you stopped by for a visit when you were here in St George. It was so nice to see you and if there is anything that I can do, just let me know. I would jump on a plane and come for a visit anytime. Miss you and I'll keep you in my prayers. Hope that you are feeling better really soon. Send Larry, Aana and Addie our love! Luvs and Hugs to you too :) Tracy

I can't begin to understand the pain and suffering you are having to endure. Please know that my prayers and fasting are for you, your family and doctors. Your example helps me appreciate my 'small' problems and to be grateful for them!!! I loved the photos and thank you for keeping us all posted!

Shanda,
Our prayers are always with you. I hope that you were able to come to a solution that you and your doctor feel comfortable with. I know that you will be led to the best solution because I know Heavenly Father cares so much about you and your family!

Have you checked into The Gerson Instsitute? Doctors won't tell you about it, and it is not allowed in the USA - power of the AMA, but they DO heal people, check youtube for vids.

Hang in there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Have you corresponded with the Huntsmen Cancer Center in SLC??? Patriarch Volmer wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. They had given up on him here but now he's doing well. Kiss the girls for me. Susi Woodworth
