So Grateful for our Freedoms!

And ALL those who have made it possible!

We went to a local cemetery where 1004 flags were out in honor of local veterans who have lost their lives in combat.  My hearts swells when I see our flag flying across a blue sky.  I get teary thinking of all of the sacrifices that have been made for our freedoms.  I am so grateful to be an American~

A good thing to do on this special day. Only those who have been there know the sacrifices made by our service men and women and their families. Our freedom has always come at a very high cost.

Really nice photos. I gleaned some interesting points reading about how the Pledge of Allegiance and June 14: Flag Day came to be.

What ever happened to the VFW who used to sell the silk red poppies on Memorial Day? That’s one emory that comes to mind from Memorial Days in the past.
